Jan. 29, 2010 - Spencer's 1st Annual Hockey Festival
- Spencer Hockey Academy is pleased to announce that they are hosting their "1st Annual Spencer Hockey Festival" on April 2 - 4th, 2010 at Bear Mountain Arena. Please watch for game times to be announced soon.
The academy is currently selling tickets to a Victoria Grizzlie game on February 19th, 2010 as a fundraiser for our tournament. Tickets are $14/adult and $11/student. Grizzlies are playing the Powell River Kings, 7:15 pm game time.

- The Spencer Hockey Academy is preparing to hold its first annual Hockey Festival.
We are hoping to play host to other schools from around the province and have some fun healthy competition. Please watch for announcements of the game times which will be on Easter Weekend at Bear Mountain Arena. Come out and watch some great hockey and cheer on your fellow students.

- Thank you to all the students who took part in our recent skate-a-thon. All funds raised will be going to further resources for the hockey program.

- Spencer Hockey Academy hosts an evening talk with Dr. Saul L. Miller, author of Hockey Tough - A winning mental game.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Miller's coaching expertise has been helping individual athletes, teams and coaches perform at the top of their game. Saul has worked with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, and the LA Kings and is currently working with the Victoria Grizzlies Junior A hockey team.

- Spencer Announces a Grade 7 Hockey Program for 2008/09!
There will be a grade 7 hockey program at Spencer Middle School Hockey
Academy during the 2008/09 school year. The program will be taught
by teacher and hockey coach Craig
Didmon.

An evening to inform and be informed. We need to be completely
informed of the options that are available. And we need to inform
the government about what we want them to do when they change
the laws in the spring session.
Everyone with interest in public education is welcome.

August 2005
- Students will not need hockey gear for the first day of classes
-September 6th.
- Grade 8 students will first practice on Wednesday, September
7th. The 8’s will also be practicing on the Thursday. Grade
8 students will need proper runners and dress for off-ice training
sessions on Wednesday and Friday of the first week
- Grade 9 students will skate on Thursday of the first week.
They are expected to have the proper training gear for Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday.
- Both programs will skate three days a week. Grade 9’s
skate Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Grade 8’s will skate
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- We will be contacting parents who signed up for on and off
ice testing support during the first week of September.
- We are now an official Hockey Canada Skills Academy (HCSA)
Hockey Canada will contribute the following services to our program:
- HCSA off ice development training curriculum guide
- HCSA Operations Manual for On ice instruction
- Member of Hockey Canada’s coaches club (online program)
